Ogun East CityBoy Movement Congratulates Gov. Abiodun On His Emergence As Consensus Candidate

The Ogun East CityBoy Movement has extended warm congratulations to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on his emergence as the consensus senatorial candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District.

In a statement released by its Ogun East Senatorial Coordinator, Hon, (Dr) Babatunde Oyetola Diya described the Governor’s emergence as a reflection of his outstanding leadership, sterling performance, and the confidence reposed in him by party leaders and stakeholders across the district.

According to the Movement Coordinator, Governor Abiodun’s administration has delivered significant developmental strides that have positively impacted the lives of citizens across Ogun State adding that his track record in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development makes him well-suited for effective representation at the Senate.

The group highlighted key achievements of the Governor, including the Construction of the Gateway International Airport at Iperu, which is expected to boost investment, tourism, and economic growth in the state. 

The group also commended the administration’s massive road construction and rehabilitation projects across the state , as well as numerous intra-city and rural road networks that have improved connectivity and eased transportation.

In the health sector, the Movement praised the revitalization of Primary Healthcare Centres and the implementation of the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme (OGHIS), which has expanded access to affordable healthcare services for residents. They added that these initiatives have significantly strengthened the state’s healthcare delivery system.

The statement further applauded the administration’s economic initiatives, particularly the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) and various support programmes for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which have empowered entrepreneurs and stimulated local economic growth.

The Ogun East CityBoy Movement also emphasized Governor Abiodun’s inclusive governance style, noting that his administration has ensured that development projects are evenly distributed across all local governments and communities, fostering unity and balanced growth.

“With his wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors, Governor Abiodun possesses the capacity, competence, and vision required to deliver effective legislative representation at the national level,” the statement read.

The group expressed confidence that, if elected, the Governor would bring his developmental expertise and people-centered approach to the Senate, where he is expected to attract more federal projects, sponsor impactful legislation, and amplify the voice of Ogun East on the national stage.
