NUJ Ogun-East Independent Chapel Commends Security Agencies For Exemplary Service In The Region

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun-East Independent Chapel, under the leadership of Comrade Oluseun Oduneye, has commended the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Amotekun Security Corps for their outstanding commitment and professionalism in safeguarding lives and property across the Ogun-East Senatorial District.

The Chapel observed that, over the past few months, these security agencies have demonstrated remarkable coordination, vigilance, and dedication to duty. Notably, incidents of kidnapping and armed robbery within the region have significantly reduced, reflecting the positive impact of their collective efforts.

According to the Chapel, the synergy among the security agencies has not only improved public safety but also fostered an environment conducive to effective journalism and community development.

The Chapel also lauded the improved, people-friendly approach adopted by the security formations-particularly their prompt response to incidents and their respectful collaboration with the media in the discharge of their duties.

“These exemplary conducts underscore the unwavering commitment of the security operatives to maintaining peace, order, and mutual respect between law enforcement and the press,” the statement noted.

In recognition of these commendable strides, the Chapel urged its members to remain steadfast in upholding the principles of ethical and responsible journalism. It also called on the leadership and operatives of the security agencies to sustain their spirit of partnership and exemplary service delivery.

The Chapel emphasized that such recognition will further strengthen the bond between the media and security institutions, while promoting professionalism, accountability, and public confidence in the state’s security framework.

Reaffirming its dedication to peace, accountability, and development through responsible journalism, the NUJ Ogun-East Independent Chapel reminded the general public that security is a collective responsibility, urging all citizens to contribute to the continued peace and progress of the region.
