Nothing more to say after reading Ronaldo’s statement – Coach Jesus
Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus has declined further comment on Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent public statement.
Approached by journalists on Wednesday morning as he left home for the Portuguese Football Federation headquarters, Jesus confirmed he had seen the forward’s lengthy account of their dispute.
In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Wednesday, Jesus said, “I read the statement and now, like I do every day, I’m going to the Federation headquarters to work, to think about the Portuguese national team,” Jesus said. “I have nothing more to say.”
Ronaldo’s statement, released on Tuesday, detailed his version of events that led him to leave the national team camp during the recent international window.
The 41-year-old accused Jesus of breaking his word twice, once by not substituting him into the match against Norway after warming him up, and again by failing to deliver agreed talking points at a subsequent press conference.
Jesus has previously maintained that no lasting rift exists and that Ronaldo remains eligible for future selection.
Online had reported that Jesus said late Tuesday that he had not read Cristiano Ronaldo’s lengthy public statement detailing their recent dispute, explaining that he was watching the Portugal under-21 team instead
