No room for indiscipline, Kogi CP tells new ASPs

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Kankarofi, has officially received newly posted Assistant Superintendents of Police into the command.

This was disclosed in a statement issued in the early hours of Thursday in Lokoja by the command’s spokesperson, CSP William Aya.

According to the statement, the reception provided the commissioner with the opportunity to personally welcome the officers and brief them on expectations regarding their new assignments.

In his address, Kankarofi emphasised that the newly posted ASPs represent renewed hope for the reform and advancement of the Nigeria Police Force.

He urged them to approach their duties with utmost seriousness, dedication, and commitment to service, while upholding the core principles of policing, including integrity, discipline, and accountability.

“I urge you  all  to approach your duties with utmost seriousness, dedication, and commitment to service, while upholding the core principles of policing, including integrity, discipline, and accountability”, the statement quoted the CP to have said.

The commissioner further highlighted the challenges involved in maintaining public safety, enforcing the law, and building community trust, charging the officers to rise to these challenges and demonstrate professionalism and excellence in all their engagements.

The newly posted ASPs expressed gratitude to the commissioner and pledged to uphold the high standards and ethics expected of officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

The reception, according to the statement, underscores the Kogi State Police Command’s commitment to supporting, guiding, and mentoring newly posted personnel to enable them to discharge their duties effectively in the interest of public safety and the security of the state.
