Nine Months After Abduction, Onitsha Woman Begs Security Agencies To Find Missing Husband

A woman in Onitsha, Anambra State, Mrs. MaryCynthia Ogechukwu Nnanyelugo, has raised the alarm over the prolonged disappearance of her husband, Hyginus Arinze Nnanyelugo, who was abducted by gunmen nine months ago, July 11, 2024.
It was reports that Mrs. Nnanyelugo, in a desperate plea, called on security agencies to intensify efforts in locating her husband, who was last seen before armed men forced him into a tricycle and sped away.
Despite lodging a formal complaint with the Fegge Police Division the following day, she lamented that there has been no significant progress in tracing his whereabouts.
The victim was abducted along Onoja Oboli Street, opposite Modebe Secondary School in the Odoakpu area of Onitsha.
According to his wife’s sworn affidavit at the Law Chambers of Sir Ben Chudi Izuegbu Esq., the kidnappers also made away with his Lexus RX 300 Jeep (Gold Colour), registered as FGG 693 HC.
Detailing the harrowing incident, Mrs. Nnanyelugo explained that her husband was driving home to their residence at No. 36 Sanniez Street, Odoakpu, when the assailants intercepted his vehicle.
The attackers, who arrived in a tricycle, allegedly blocked his path before forcibly taking him away.
Since then, neither the abductors nor their victim have reached out for a ransom demand, heightening fears over his fate.
Mrs. Nnanyelugo has since taken several measures, including paying ₦35,000 for radio announcements on Radio Sapientia on July 23, 2024, urging anyone with useful information to come forward.
She provided additional details about her husband’s stolen vehicle, identifying its Engine Number as 1MZ*4371507 and Chassis Number as MCU10-0052334, in hopes that law enforcement agencies and members of the public might help track it down.
Expressing her anguish, the distraught wife highlighted the emotional and financial burden the disappearance has placed on their family.
She emphasized that her husband’s prolonged absence has disrupted their livelihood and left their household in distress.
Mrs. Nnanyelugo has urged the police, military, and other relevant authorities to renew efforts in finding her husband, stressing that his safe return would bring much-needed relief to their shattered family.
