The Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Ecology and the JTH Forestry Research Center at New Mexico State University invites applications for a Master of Science (MS) position to assess the social dimensions of post-wildfire reforestation in the southwestern US.

The student will address questions related to land manager perceptions of and participation in post-wildfire reforestation projects and evaluation of the social outcomes of post-wildfire reforestation projects. 

Eligibility Requirements for New Mexico State University Scholarship

To be considered for the New Mexico State University Scholarship, you must have the following:

  • An undergraduate degree in the natural or social sciences, studying subjects relevant to this position
  • Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders or communities on natural resources topics in the United States
  • Familiarity or experience studying or working on forest management or wildfire in the United States is desirable
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
