Kebbi approves N60m for health college accreditation programme

The Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris has approved N60 million to facilitate the accreditation of eight academic programmes at the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega, by the National Board for Technical Education.

The approval, which underscores the governor’s commitment to strengthening tertiary education in the state, comes as a major relief for students—especially those affected by the October 17, 2024, disruption—who can now proceed with their studies and obtain National Diploma qualifications.

According to the Provost of the College, Hussaini Aliyu, “the accreditation process is already underway.

“The governor also approved the renovation of students’ hostels to enhance learning and living conditions on campus”

Meanwhile, education stakeholders have lauded the intervention, describing it as another sign of Governor Idris’s resolve to reposition health education and produce qualified manpower for the state’s healthcare system.
