Hon. Segun Kaka received applause as Speaker Elemide Commissions a Series of Transformative Projects in Ago Iwoye

The ancient town of Ago Iwoye came alive on Friday, October 10, 2025, as the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Arch.) Oludaisi Olusegun Elemide, alongside members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, paid a historic working visit to the community to commission multiple developmental projects facilitated by Hon. Prince (Engr.) Segun Odunuga Kaka, Member representing Ijebu North II State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Upon arrival, the Speaker and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Oba AbdulRazaq Adesina Adenugba, Okokodana II, the Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye, at his palace, where they were warmly received by the monarch, his chiefs, and prominent indigenes of the town.
From the palace, the dignitaries proceeded to various project sites for the commissioning ceremonies. The day’s activities featured the official commissioning of several borehole water projects across strategic communities — including Ojude Olooto, Aba Paanu, Aredi Oke, and Young Ade in Aiyegbami Street — as part of the 2025 Constituency Projects facilitated by Hon. Segun Kaka.
The grand finale of the day’s event was the commissioning of the Late Pa. Otunba Solomon Oduyemi Health Centre located at Lugbedu/Sala/Elega, Ago Iwoye, a landmark healthcare project symbolising Hon. Kaka’s commitment to accessible health services for his people.
Since his assumption of office, Hon. Segun Odunuga Kaka has distinguished himself as a proactive legislator with a strong passion for community-driven development. His legislative representation has been marked by visible projects and people-oriented programs cutting across healthcare, education, water supply, empowerment, road infrastructure, agriculture, commerce, and youth development within Ijebu North II Constituency.
Below are highlights of his remarkable achievements and interventions across various sectors:
1. Water Supply Projects
Newly constructed borehole at Imota, near SSG House, Ward 07, Oru Ijebu.
Complete rehabilitation of a long-abandoned borehole at Ikansi, Isale Oru.
Multiple automated solar-powered boreholes constructed or ongoing in Mamu, Oke Ogbe, Ojude Olooto, Young Ade, Aredi Oke, Aba Paanu, and Ilaporu communities.
Ongoing construction of automated boreholes at Olupakala Proposed Hospital and the newly commissioned Late Pa. Solomon Oduyemi Health Centre in Ago Iwoye.
2. Commerce and Traders Empowerment
Donation of ₦500,000 to kickstart a rotational traders’ fund among market women in Awa Ijebu.
3. Electricity and Illumination
Installation and funding of a 500kVA/11 transformer at Ololo/Mariam Community, Ago Iwoye.
Street lighting projects at Itun Nla Road (Awa Ijebu), Awotele Roundabout, Awa Market, and major access roads in Ago Iwoye and Oru Ijebu with solar-powered streetlights across over ten villages.
4. Social, Cultural, and Heritage Promotion
Facilitated ₦2 million each for Awa Day and Ago Iwoye Day celebrations from the state ministry.
Sponsored and donated funds for Oru Day 2023 and Ogenegene Day (Ilaporu) celebrations.
5. Community Welfare and Festive Support
During the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year celebrations, Hon. Kaka disbursed over ₦9 million in cash to various community groups and associations, including market unions, religious bodies, and local security outfits, alongside the distribution of 50 bags of rice.
6. Food Palliatives
To cushion the impact of fuel subsidy removal, he distributed:
60 bags of rice, 10 bags each of beans and garri, 100 packs of spaghetti, 100 bags of 6kg Semovita, and 100 cartons of noodles across the constituency.
7. Community and Rural Road Development
Procurement and donation of a D6R bulldozer worth ₦42 million to aid community road grading.
Sponsored grading and rehabilitation of over 15 rural roads, including Oke Erigba, Imoro, Abobi, Jaloye, Odogbe, and Ilaporu access roads.
Cleared land for the proposed Oru Ultra-Modern Market.
8. Education Development
Facilitated university admissions for over 50 students into courses like Pharmacy, Medicine, and Biochemistry at OOU.
Organized free holiday coaching for more than 1,800 students across Ifelodun Constituency.
Granted scholarships and incentives to outstanding students.
9. Employment Facilitation
Secured jobs for indigenes in Ogun State Civil Service, OOUTH Sagamu, SUBEB, TESCOM, and private institutions.
Engaged over 50 individuals in various state revenue and security-related assignments.
10. Healthcare Intervention
Sponsored free medical tests, surgeries, and prostate operations for dozens of constituents.
Paid medical bills for several patients monthly at partner hospitals.
Constructed the Late Pa. Solomon Oduyemi Health Centre (Ago Iwoye) and the ongoing Olupakala Health Centre (Ilaporu).
11. Sports and Youth Empowerment
Sponsored Iwoye Day and Oru Day Marathon Races (2022–2023).
Currently funding the Ifelodun Football Talent Scouting Program under the Prince Segun Kaka Sports Foundation.
12. Agricultural and Road Collaboration (RAAMP)
Through effective legislative collaboration, Hon. Kaka facilitated the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Projects (RAAMP), including:
Construction of the Mamu–Aba Paanu Road.
Rehabilitation of the Omo Edumare–Okenugbo Road linking Ijebu-Ode Expressway.
