Fixing Abia is my priority, not 2027 elections — Otti

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, says nobody is entitled to distract his government with 2027 elections, stating that he is rather focusing on fixing the state.

Otti stated this on Saturday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuikaa District headquarters, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, assuring all that he would remain focused on doing the right thing.

“I am not bothered about 2027 as the God that settled 2023 would equally settle 2027,” he said.

Otti, who was at the church worship with his wife, Priscilla Chidinma, said, “This government will continue to do the right thing. No one, or group of people, whoever they are, none of them is entitled to distract us.

So, when they make noise, like I said last week, we should not be bothered about noise. We should just remain focused and do what we have to do.

“Sometimes, I worry if it is the 2027 election they are talking about, or maybe there’s another election coming up, but the same way God delivered me in 2023, that is the way he will deliver me in 2027.”

He apologised for the dust they are inhaling around the Umuikaa junction-Owerrinta road due to ongoing road rehabilitation, informing them that such inconveniences are part of things that go with development.

As you can see, we are at the final stages of dualising this road. It is a federal road but we got approval from the Federal Government to reconstruct and dualise the road.

“And as we are doing this, we are also doing the one from Onuimo to Tower. And the idea is that any time you get into Abia State, you know you’ve gotten into Abia State” Otti stated.
