Firm donates 5-megawatt electricity project to Ondo

In a bid to ensure a stable electric power supply in Ondo State, an energy firm, Lincs Power Energy Solutions, has donated a 5-megawatt power project to Ondo town.

It was gathered that the power project was facilitated by a former Senior Special Assistant to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on ICT, Mr Olumbe Akinkugbe.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony of the project, on Sunday, the Project Manager of the company, Mr Otinniyi Micheal explained that the power capacity which would later be ” upgraded to 20 megawatts, that would be capable of providing reliable electricity to the entire Ondo State and its environs.”

He commended the state governor , Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa for his encouragement on the project, expressing optimism that the project would be completed as soon as possible.

In his remarks, the facilitator, Mr Akinkugbe, said the project was expected to provide reliable electricity to Ondo West Local Government and its environs, driving economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.

He said, ” This ceremony marked the beginning of the project’s construction phase, with Lincs Power Energy Solutions pledging to deliver the project as promised. Plans are also underway to upgrade the power capacity to 20MW in the future. This groundbreaking event signifies the beginning of the project’s construction phase.

Aiyedatiwa, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Energy, Mr Alabi Johnson, expressed appreciation to Akinkugbe for his tireless efforts in facilitating the project and encouraged the community to rally behind the initiative.
