EPL: No return date yet for injured Rodri, says Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that there is still no set time frame for Rodri’s return to action, as the midfielder continues his recovery from a muscle problem.

According to a post by Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, Guardiola was quoted as saying, “There’s no time frame for Rodri’s return yet. He’s not ready yet.

“For sure, he’s getting better, training with us partially. But after what happened two times, prior incidents in muscular, we’re going to see how he evolves this week.”

The Spain international has been sidelined after suffering a recurrence of a muscle injury, and City are determined not to rush him back.

Guardiola emphasised that the club’s medical team is monitoring the situation closely, mindful of previous setbacks.

Rodri’s absence has been keenly felt in midfield, with City lacking their usual control and rhythm in recent matches. However, Guardiola made it clear that the player’s long-term fitness is the priority.

Manchester City face a busy run of fixtures in both domestic and European competitions, and Rodri’s return will be a major boost when he’s fully cleared to play.
