Edo govt uncovers brothel operating in primary school

The Edo State government has uncovered and sealed a brothel operating inside a primary school in Esan West Local Government Area, the State Coordinator for the Protection of Government Property (PGP), Eugene Okolosie, announced on Thursday.

Speaking at a press briefing in Benin City, Okolosie revealed that the illicit establishment was discovered within Ujuele Primary School.

Authorities have taken steps to seal the brothel, and discussions are underway with the governor regarding the future use of the property.

Okolosie also disclosed that the government has recovered over 2,000 plots of land previously encroached upon by land grabbers across the state. He noted that more than 150,000 houses in Edo were built on government-owned lands.

The community informed us that land grabbers forged their signatures, prompting swift action to reclaim about 90 per cent of the land, including properties belonging to schools,” he said.

“For example in Ujuele Primary School, they built a brothel inside the school and we have sealed the brothel and some of these property will be converted and we are presently discussing with the governor on the matter,” Okolosie said.
