DR. OLUWATOYIN MADEIN BAGS IPERU YOUTH ICON AWARD FOR HUMANITARIAN SERVICE

The first female Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, has been honoured with a Humanitarian Service Award by the Iperu Youth Development Association
Tagged the Iperu Youth Icon Award, the event is organised as part of activities marking the 39th Akesan Day Celebration whose activities commenced on Wednesday.
The award according to the Association, is in recognition of her outstanding contributions, exemplary achievements and positive impact within Iperu and beyond, all of which established her as a role model to the youth.
Dr. MADEIN is an award-winning civil servant and public administrator whose distinguished career in the public service is celebrated for innovation, integrity, and accountability.
Her tenure as Accountant-General of the Federation was notable for the successful implementation and expansion of the Treasury Single Account (TSA), Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS), and several Capacity Building and Human Capital Development initiatives aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s public financial management framework.
A distinguished professional, Dr. MADEIN is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA), Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
Her academic attainment includes a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from Ogun State Polytechnic (now MAPOLY), a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), and a Ph.D. in Management Finance from Walden University, Minnesota, USA. She also holds a Doctor of Business Administration (Honoris Causa) from the Commonwealth University.
In recognition of her outstanding service to humanity, Dr. MADEIN has been honoured as the
Pillar of Support by the Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board as well as a Meritorious Award by Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo Old Students Association. She is the winner of the Guardian Newspaper Seven Wonder Women Award (Business of Public Service), and she was equally listed as one of the 50 Power People in Africa, an award powered by exquisite magazine in partnership with Africa CEO's Network, to honour people who embody resilience, leadership and advocate for women empowerment and inclusion in the african continent
As an illustrious indigene and proud daughter of Iperu-Akesanland, she feel deeply honoured to identify with her homeland.
In the course of her service to the nation, she was privileged to facilitate employment of numerous young people from Iperu into federal MDAs and attract some federal projects to the community, aimed at improving the quality of life of the people and enhancing local development. These includes the Iperu Irrigation and Dam Project, the Mini Stadium and Sports Arena, the Vocational Skills Acquisition Centre, Solar-powered Street Lights, and the Empowerment Programme for Women and Youths, with equipment, tools and fund.
Other projects also facilitated that are awaiting delivery includes; Flood and Erosion Control, Sports Pavilion for Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Garri Processing Center, Digital Training for the Youths, Solar-powered Street Lights to cover areas yet to be served, and Solar-Powered Boreholes.
In furtherance of her personal commitment to community development, the Olowo Oloye Foundation also established the Olowo Oloye ICT Centre, commissioned earlier today, which is designed to equip the youths with essential digital skills for modern innovation and productivity.
Beyond infrastructure, her passion for education, healthcare, youth development, and sustainable livelihood for women, the aged, and widows continues to drive the activities of the foundation through which she has consistently implemented scholarship schemes, medical outreaches, and economic empowerment programmes across the community.
Reacting to the award, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN thanked the Iperu Youth Development Association for finding her worthy of the honour. She promised to sustain the good works aimed at uplifting humanity.
Happily married to Engr. Adeleke MADEIN, the union is blessed with successful children.
