Commissioner hails Oyebanji’s progress in Ekiti

Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, has said that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration’s focus on continuity in government, service delivery and people-oriented policies has positively impacted the state and residents.

Olatunbosun said Ekiti has recorded unprecedented progress following Oyebanji’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development and inclusive governance since his assumption of office in October 2022.

The commissioner said in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Friday that the Oyebanji administration “has deliberately consolidated on the achievements of previous governments, with a clear emphasis on continuity, efficient service delivery and people-oriented policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.”

According to him, the Oyebanji administration has given priority to the completion of previously abandoned projects, while also initiating new ones under its infrastructure development agenda

This, he said, had resulted in the successful rehabilitation of critical road networks, thereby enhancing transportation, facilitating commerce and strengthening rural-urban integration across the state.

Olatunbosun said, “The government has revitalised the agricultural sector through the reintroduction of extension services, provision of essential farm inputs, and the implementation of youth-focused agricultural initiatives. The clearing of thousands of hectares of farmland has not only boosted food production but also created employment opportunities for residents.”

On healthcare, the commissioner said the administration had undertaken the revitalisation of primary healthcare centres and introduced mobile healthcare services targeted at underserved communities, thereby improving access to quality and affordable healthcare across the state.

He added that the government had made substantial investments in the renovation of public primary and secondary schools, the integration of digital learning technologies and the continuous professional development of teachers.

He stated, “These interventions are aimed at enhancing educational standards and equipping students with the requisite skills for global competitiveness.

“Through various empowerment programmes, the administration has expanded opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship under the Economic Growth and Job Creation pillar. Ongoing innovation-driven initiatives are positioning Ekiti State as an emerging hub for knowledge-based industries, while also contributing to increased internally generated revenue,” he said.

The commissioner said Oyebanji’s leadership had been widely acknowledged for its emphasis on inclusiveness, transparency and unity, which had fostered a stable and peaceful political environment, as well as strengthened collaboration among stakeholders in the state.

He solicited the continued support of all stakeholders as he reiterated the administration’s steadfast commitment to sustainable development, improved quality of life for all citizens, and inclusive growth that ensured no community was left behind.

Olatunbosun stressed that the achievements recorded thus far represent key milestones within a broader vision of shared prosperity for the people of Ekiti State.
