Benue workers clean up roads ahead of Tinubu’s visit

Workers were, on the evening of June 17, seen cutting grasses along a major road in Makurdi, as preparations intensified for President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Benue State.
Tinubu is expected in the state on Wednesday, days after over 200 people were reportedly killed in a brutal overnight attack by armed herdsmen between June 13 and 14 in Makurdi.
To mark the visit, the state government declared June 18 a public holiday.
Support groups were also mobilised for a colourful procession, what officials described as a “shoulder-to-shoulder” display, from the airport through Wurukum Roundabout to the Government House.
In the video making rounds on social media, workers were seen carrying out cleanup operations and clearing the route the President is expected to take.
