Army, police agree on collaboration in Delta
The Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police Force have settled for continuous collaboration and sustained synergy in their operations across Delta State.
This was agreed on during the courtesy visit by the Commissioner of Police for Delta State Police Command, CP Aina Adesola, to the Commander, 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, in Asaba on Tuesday.
A statement by Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, the acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade, stated, “The courtesy visit aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy between 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), and the Delta State Police Command”.
“The objective was to enhance effective policing and overall security across the state”, it added.
During the meeting, CP Aina Adesola emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation, timely intelligence sharing, and joint operational strategies among security agencies.
The police boss particularly highlighted the need to address security challenges in the state’s riverine and coastal areas.
Brigadier General Shonibare who warmly received the Commissioner of Police and his team, reiterated the Brigade’s readiness to collaborate closely with the police and other sister security agencies.
Shonibare assured CP Aina Adesola of “full support in crime prevention, maintenance of public order, and the protection of lives and property throughout Delta State”.
The Commander emphasized that “inter-agency cooperation remains a critical pillar of effective security management” pledging continuous engagement to strengthen the existing security architecture in Delta State.
