Amnesty distributes laptops to scholarship beneficiaries
The Presidential Amnesty Programme has commenced the second phase of laptop distribution to its 2024/2025 scholarship beneficiaries across Nigerian universities.
This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the PAP administrator, Dr Dennis Otuaro, issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Igoniko Oduma.
Otuaro said the decision to provide laptops was driven by their importance to academic work and overall student success.
Otuaro added that the initiative was to enhance learning and research among students.
Otuaro said, “This gesture is in fulfilment of my promise to the scholarship beneficiaries during my tour of partnering universities in 2024.”
He expressed optimism that the laptops would support learning and research efforts, helping students to achieve academic excellence.
“I urge you to make good use of this device and justify the Federal Government’s huge investment in your education,” Otuaro added
The PAP boss advised the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and avoid acts capable of derailing their future ambitions.
“PAP will continue to support you, the beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme, to achieve academic excellence,” he assured.
Otuaro noted that the first phase of the distribution, carried out between April and May 2025, benefited over 663 final-year scholarship students.
During that exercise, the PAP also conducted a physical verification and orientation programme for beneficiaries listed for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Reaffirming his commitment to the programme’s core objectives, Otuaro said his leadership remained focused on driving the socio-economic advancement of the Niger Delta in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He commended the President for his continued support for the programme, describing it as a demonstration of “his sincere love for the region and his strong desire to close the human capital development gap.”
Otuaro further urged youths in the region to reciprocate the President’s gesture by supporting his administration’s efforts toward peace and sustainable development.
