Aircraft makes unusual landing at Kano airport

Flybird Aircraft Management Services Ltd has confirmed that all passengers and crew aboard one of its aircraft were safe following an incident involving an unusual landing at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Sunday morning.

The aircraft, registration 5N-ISB, was en route from Abuja to Kano when it encountered difficulties during landing at about 9:30 a.m.

The jet had 11 passengers and three crew members on board.

Eyewitnesses at the airport said the aircraft came to a stop on the runway and passengers were immediately evacuated.

Everyone was quickly brought out of the plane, and thankfully, no injuries were reported,” a source said

In a statement issued in Lagos and signed by its Corporate Communications team, Flybird described the occurrence as an unusual landing, stressing that safety procedures were followed.

The flight crew followed all established operational and safety procedures, bringing the aircraft to a safe stop,” the company said.

Flybird confirmed that all passengers and crew disembarked safely and that no injuries were recorded.

“The aircraft has been secured, and the incident has been formally reported to the relevant aviation authorities,” the statement read.

The company added that a detailed technical inspection and investigation had commenced in line with regulatory requirements.
