Onasanya said the appointments were made in line with the provisions of Section 208(c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), and after careful consideration of merit, professionalism, inclusiveness and cognate experience in the civil and public service of the state.

He explained that the Permanent Secretary-designates were selected from among directors who successfully completed the Ogun State Executive Leadership Development Pipeline Programme, from which top-level appointments are drawn.

He explained that the screening involved inspection and assessment of the schools of shortlisted candidates, based on criteria such as academic performance in external examinations and competitions, school tone, statutory records, staff relations, maintenance of facilities and personal attributes.

While congratulating the new appointees, the Head of Service urged them to demonstrate utmost dedication, selflessness and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

He charged them to pursue excellence and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state in line with the “Building Our Future Together” Agenda of Governor Abiodun.

Onasanya added that the swearing-in ceremony for the new appointees would be conducted by the governor at a later date.
