2027: Lawyer joins race for Reps seat under APGA
A lawyer and philanthropist, Prince Chukwudi Oli, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Anaocha/Dunukofia and Njikoka federal constituency, pledging to align his legislative agenda through quality representation of his constituency.
Oli made this known during an interactive session with journalists at his Uruoji’s country home in Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Saturday.
He outlined his motivation for joining the race and his plans to deliver effective representation at the federal level, adding that he will adopt a community-based approach in his legislative duties in the green chambers.
Running under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, he said his decision was driven by the need to strengthen federal representation for the constituency and ensure that the voices of Anaocha/Dunukofia and Njikoka people are adequately heard in national discourse.
He added that as a grassroots politician who is actively involved in community empowerment, grassroots political organisation, and legal advocacy, he has all it takes to represent his people in the green chambers.
He said, “This media interaction is to inform the people of Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency and my party members, the All Progressive Grand Alliance that I am contesting to represent them at the Green Chambers of the National Assembly and the objective is to make laws that will change the narratives.
“I am contesting to represent Anaocha/Dunukofia and Njikoka people in the House of Representatives because I have all it takes to offer the people a special kind of representation in the National Assembly that will impact their lives positively.
I am from Nri, and this is the first an Nri indigene will be contesting for the position since the return of democracy in Nigeria in 1999. I am running for the race to restore fairness, justice and equity.”
He noted that the constituency has experienced years of underrepresentation, emphasising the urgency for responsive and impactful leadership that will connect the people to opportunities at the federal level.
Highlighting his over two decades of experience in the private sector with multinational corporations, the APGA aspirant said he possesses the competence, credibility, and capacity to deliver results, stressing that leadership must be measured by its impact on the people.
“I am contesting this election to touch lives. I am contesting to liberate my people. I am most qualified to restore transparency and accountability to the Constituency than other intended co-contestants. I will always hold town hall meetings to update members of my constituency as legislative activities unfold.
“My lawmaking would be rooted in accountability and transparency. I will perfectly manage the resources of my Constituency, if elected. I want to liberate my people.
“I am 45 years old, and I have been involved in community service and service-based activities to my people and the country at large. I want to put a smile on the faces of Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, ethnic and religious affiliations.
“As a legal practitioner with no fewer than 20 years of experience, I have all it takes to better the lives of my Constituency through quality representation. My political journey is rooted in God’s grace,” he added
According to him, he will consolidate on the gains of APGA’s government in the state under the leadership of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration and also do more for the state, irrespective of Constituency affiliations.
He also commended Soludo for what he described as transformative leadership, citing improvements in security, infrastructure, education, ICT, and youth empowerment, noting that Anambra today cannot be compared to what it was a decade ago.
He urged his people to key into his vision to liberate the Constituency from negative narratives, noting that he was convinced to contest the race because he wants to bring federal opportunities to the people.
