The University of Malta seeks to attract top quality students from countries outside the European Union/EEA for whom the University’s Master by research and Ph.D. programmes may be beyond their financial reach.

  • have been accepted unconditionally to read for a Master by research or a Ph.D. on a full-time and part-time basis

  • First, apply for admission to a Master’s or PhD degree at the University of Malta.
  • Accept the offer of admission and proceed to apply for the scholarship.
  • Requests are to be submitted within one month of receipt of the unconditional letter of acceptance (i.e within one month of Jan 31, May 31, and Oct., 31).
  • Candidates that meet the necessary eligibility requirements will be invited to attend an online interview with the Ph.D. and Masters (by research) Degree Scholarship Selection Board.
