Government of Malaysia MCTP Scholarship Details:
The MTCP Scholarship is sponsored by the Malaysian government and is dedicated to international students from the developing world to pursue their postgraduate studies in Malaysia.
At the same time, the scholarship is aimed at acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills that could contribute to the development of their home country. The duration of the award is between 24 to 36 months for the Master’s Degree Programme.
The MTCP Scholarship is open to eligible candidates from developing countries. The online application system will be made available from 12 May 2025 until 13 June 2025.
2026 Government of Malaysia MCTP Scholarship Requirements:
To be considered for the Government of Malaysia MCTP Scholarships, you must:
- must have undertaken a study programme in the field of Science, Technology and Engineering (not including nursing, medicine, clinical pharmacy), Economics, Finance, Management and Banking, Social Science and Humanities, Information and Communication Technology, International Relations and Political Science, Agriculture and Aquaculture, or Education at an eligible university.
- must not be more than 45 years old.
- must have second-class upper honors with a minimum 3.50 GPA.
- have obtained a previous degree(s) with English used as the medium of instruction.
- must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
- IELTS – 6.0
- TOEFL IBT – 70
2026 MCTP Scholarship Duration and Reward
- The students will be provided full tuition fees and a monthly allowance of RMB 3,500.
- Other allowances covered include;
- House Rental Allowance
- Thesis Allowance
- Travel Allowance
- Medical Allowance
- Insurance Allowance
- Travel: One-off return economy-class airline ticket from the student’s closest international airport to Malaysia and back to their home country.
