Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps also known as ‘So-Safe Corps’, have arrested a a 43-year-old man, Daniel Coker, for ‘tactically robbing his neighbour’.

The So-Safe Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this to newsmen in a statement he made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the State capital.

Ganzallo, who spoke through Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said, the officers of the Corps in Adiyan/Alausa/Onibudo Division of the Corps, who were on routine patrol,
on Thursday, 11th May, 2023, received a distress call from a community person, crying for help to save lives and property from being taken unlawfully.

Ganzallo noted that the officers of the Corps swung into action and landed at 2, Adesina Compound, Onibudo via Akute in Ifo Local Government Area.

“At the scene, the victim told the officers that a person just forced his way into his apartment nakedly with a cutlass and knife; and before he could call for help, he has carted away a smart TV and a decoder”.

Ganzallo further explained that, “the operatives of the Corps some minutes later apprehended one Mr Daniel Coker, a 43-year-old man, who happens to be a neighbour to the victim in the same building after a thorough search for the robbery suspect, and the stolen television, three cutlasses and one jack knife were found in his room”.

“In the course of preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and established that if not for the expertise demonstrated by the officers of the So-Safe, no one will ever suspect him to have carried out the operation with the very rare style he adopted”, Ganzallo said.

“The suspect and the recovered exhibits; 1 Plasma TV, 3 cutlasses and 1 Jack Knife have been transfered to the Nigeria Police, Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution”.

Ganzallo therefore advised the law abiding citizens of the State to trust no one, let alone releasing one’s room key to any neighbour for onward transfer to any member of our family and the likes.

He warned that the fear of our fellow being in this age is a certificate in security and safety on its own and every family should be eager to acquire it.
