Seven remanded in prison for attacking Mimiko’s convoy

An Akure Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Oke-Eda has remanded seven persons at Olokuta prison for allegedly attacking the convoy of Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

The accused persons are – Tunde Alabi (28), Abiola Eniola (27), Yusuf Muhammed (25), Olanrewaju Olomolotan (40), Adeniyi Michael (30), Samson Omodara (20) and Ijalade Oluwaseun(27).

They allegedly committed the offence on February 2 at the entrance of the state House of Assembly in Akure, the state capital.

According to the charge sheet, the accused persons carried out the attack during the governor’s presentation of budget to the state House of Assembly.

The accused persons were arraigned on a four- count charge of felony, public disturbance, unlawful assembly and public damage.
