Police raid kidnappers’ den, rescue three travelers in Nasarawa
Police operatives from the Gitata Division in Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, successfully raided a kidnappers’ hideout, rescuing three victims.
The incident occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2024, when the victims—Abdulsalam Shuaibu, Sani Shuaibu, and Blessing Okorie—were traveling in a Volkswagen Sharon vehicle along the Kaduna-Keffi expressway. The kidnappers ambushed their vehicle and abducted them.
Upon learning of the abduction, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, CP Shetima Muhammad, promptly directed officers at the Gitata Division to locate the kidnappers’ hideout and secure the release of the victims.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Zaks Wambai, immediately mobilized his team to the scene. The area was thoroughly combed, leading to the discovery of the kidnappers’ den. The criminals were dislodged, and the victims were rescued unharmed.
CP Shetima Muhammad commended the officers for their swift and successful operation and urged them to continue their efforts to combat crime in the region.
