Omooba Adekoya Emerges New Bejeroku Of Oke Agbo
Frontline politician and management consultant, Omooba Adeleke Adekoya has emerged the Bejeroku-elect of Oke Agbo, Ijebu Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Adekoya, 58, hails from Ugbonla family of Okemoro Ruling House.
In the selection process which culminated in the election by kingmakers on Monday, Omooba Adekoya garnered all the votes cast by the nine eligible kingmakers to the wild jubilation and overwhelming excitement of the people of the community and residents alike.
Earlier, four of the nominated seven contestants namely Omooba Olanipekun Olawale Awonuga, Captain R. O. Atanda (rtd), Omooba Sowunmi Adebola Soolu and Omooba Adelaja Olaseni Sulaiman had openly stepped down for Omooba Adekoya remaining Omooba Dikhrulah Olajide Buraimoh who pressed for due process calling on the kingmakers to go ahead with the election. The seventh nominee, Omooba Alobaloke Sakiru Olawale was absent at the decisive stage.
With the declaration of Omooba Adeleke Adekoya as the Bejeroku-elect by the Secretary of the Ijebu North Local Government Transition Committee, Mr. Adedayo Sanwo, he is set to succeed the first Bejeroku of Oke Agbo, Oba Haroun Olaoye Abass who joined his ancestors in December, 2019 as arrangements are in top gear to start all other necessary rites that would lead to his official coronation as the Bejeroku of Oke Agbo.
Starting his education from his roots at Holy Angels Catholic Primary School, Oke Agbo, he is a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration of Nigeria and American Institute of Management with Masters Degree in Business Administration and Financial Management. He also possesses a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism.
As an experienced administrator, financial expert and consultant of note, he has worked in several institutions before establishing his own outfit; WAY FORWARD NIGERIA LIMITED; a building and road construction company.
Adekoya also has a vast and rewarding political experience from holding, along the line, various positions of responsibility as Special Assistant to the one time Hon. Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Caretaker Committee, Ijebu North Local Government (2011).
A social mixer and Community Leader, he is the current President of Ijebu Igbo Club. He has many published books to his credit. His hobbies include reading, research and sports.
