OGUN 2019: YEWA HAD TWO OPPORTUNITIES, BUT THEY LOST IT – BAYO DAYO
The Ogun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party chairman, Engr. Adebayo Dayo has rated the administration of All Progressives Congress as incapacitated party with low experience in politics. Adebayo made this clear in a recent chat with our correspondent. He said, “PDP is no more campaigning because APC is doing campaigning for us, the performance of APC is what is assisting our party campaigning nationwide.”
He stressed that people have never had it so bad like this in Nigeria. Look at where we are sitting how many people can you see? During the good days when Nigeria was still Nigeria, this place would be full of people; there will be so much noise from people, right, left front and center, but now every where is deserted, go to the State and see what is happening, the rural areas, we do not have any local government, the local government people are in disarray, they have left their job undone, no grading in the rural areas, there is no assistance for farmers, market men and women, things are just going bad in Nigeria.
Adebayo further stated that the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari a very bad one, saying, “As far as I know the tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari is the worst, we have ever had in the history of Nigeria and I am sure people are no more fools, they have learnt their lessons and they will vote in PDP, come 2019, they have tried PDP and tried APC for a change but the change is doing us no good, it is a change of good things that we have been having to bad things and the change is not helping anybody in Nigeria, ask the students, teachers, market men and women and the civil servants will tell you they have not had it so bad, 2019 by the grace of God, PDP is bouncing back to victory at the National, State and Local.”
Speaking on the agitation agenda in the State between Yewa and Ijebu for the next governor of the State, Adebayo ascertained that as PDP is concerned, he’s the chairman, the Yewa people have had two opportunities in PDP to become the governor but they lost the opportunities. If they had voted wisely, if all their votes had gone into their region, we would have had a Governor from Yewa in Ogun State, but whatever you do for the people of the West, they will be divided, they are never together and am not seeing them coming together in 2019, I am the Chairman of everybody, we are going to have a transparent primary, every one is having equal opportunity to contest and whoever emerges as the winner for candidate of PDP either in Ijebu or Yewa will be our candidate and we will work for the candidate to win&, he stated.
In consolation to all aggrieved leaders in the state chapter of People’s Democratic Party, Bayo Dayo posited that some people in the past have had the opportunity of leading in the party in various places, it does not mean that they were not good people, it does not mean they are good leaders, they only had the opportunity at that particular time, but as far as he’s concerned he would make sure and try his best to make sure everyone come together. He asserted further, &In every society of life you will see good people along side the bad people as far as our party is concerned, we have both the good and bad people among those that had led us before. Some of them today, cannot even win the seat of a councilor if they are nominated in their ward talk less of going far but as for me I am going to work with everybody, I will beg whoever needs begging. I will do everything humanly possible to make sure that we reconcile but what people are doing is not in the interest of the party or of their community but for their selfish interest, they are going into places where they know they can achieve their objectives, their personal interest, even if there is a party called water, you will see people going there to achieve their goal, once they know they will achieve their interest, for me I am a founding member of PDP I am not going to any other party until the very end because whatever has a beginning must have an end.
I will take him as our father and if we need his advice we will go to him but I will not drag him into PDP or any other party affair in Nigeria because he is above that level, as the Chairman of PDP I will do everything humanly possible to make sure that we work together and 2019 Oke-Imosan will be our place&, Said Bayo Dayo. Lamenting on the errand killings in some states today in the country by herdsmen, he claimed that, it is quite unfortunate that it is in this 21st century that Nigerians are being killed or we are killing ourselves on issues of herdsmen, I think we ought to have gone beyond this, but it’s very saddening and very condemnable at all levels, but I want to implore the government to find solutions to it to ensure that lives and properties are saved.
The issue of cattle colony, a cattle rearer or herdsmen are doing their businesses so every states has their own laws so I believe in my opinion, authorities’ policies should best respected and allowed to take f effective cause, the onerous responsibilities rests on the states and Governors. Federal Ministry of Agriculture has no land anywhere, but the Governors of the state will decide on what is worthwhile, what are the mandate of the people, what are the manifesto of the party, what are the mission and vision for him as the Governor of the state, who will now decide on what to do with any policy.
