Odoje Festival Holds Feb 28

Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, the Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom in Ogbomoso South area of Oyo State has announced that the annual cultural rich Odoje festival will hold on February 28, 2020

Oba Oyediran in a press released made available to our correspondent in Oyo State revealed that the festival was an annual celebration which showcases its traditional values.

The royal father said “this year celebration which is slated for February 28 will mark 180 years anniversary of this rich cultural heritage. The festival was formerly known as ‘Odoje’ but has now been renamed ‘Odun Oba Onpetu’

Oba Oyediran disclosed that “the festival is a time set aside by Onpetu ancestors to bless the sons and daughters of Ijeru kingdom and this year’s event shall take place at Orile-Oje ground”.

The monarch has therefore enjoined all sons and daughters of Ijeru kingdom to participate in this historical festival urging them to always rally round efforts at preserving the cultural heritage of the community and Yoruba land as a whole.
