More Tech Solutions To Promote E-Commerce Berth In Ogun

Ogun State has continued to upgrade it’s economic value chain through emerging technology with the development of tech solutions that address challenges in agriculture, nutrition, health and the civil service.

This was ascertained at the grand finale of Hackathon 2023 tagged Ogun Hack 3.0 ,themed " Technology Solutions To Promote  MSMEs", held at Ogun TechHUB, Kobape, Abeokuta.

 Delivering his goodwill message, the Ogun  state Head of Service, Mr Kolawole Fagbohun, represented by Director of Welfare Matters, Bureau of Service Matters, Adeduntan Abubakare said the display of  the tech solutions built by indigenous ICT experts had brought to fruition the purpose for which Ogun TechHUB was  created.

He commended the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT), and it's partner GIZ- Sedin, for  coming up with  intellectual tasks that  would place Ogun among the states to be  reckoned with  in Information Technology (IT), adding that the efforts  of Governor Abiodun towards ensuring no one is left blind in Information Communication Technology (ICT) was not in vain.

 Speaking at the event, Director Standard Regulations, Planning and Research (BIT),Mrs Olatundun Adekunte explained that Hackathon is an avenue for tech startups to incubate and pitch ideas that would proffer tech- based solutions for different sectors of economy.

She recalled that BIT, in collaboration with GIZ- Sedin had developed a Solution  Convergence for MSMEs , representatives of Corporative Societies and  government agencies to brainstorm on developing indigenous tech-based innovations that would surmount obstacles faced by enterpreneurs and agencies, and enable them enjoy the benefits of digitalisation of their businesses and work place.

Adekunte highlighted various solutions developed at Hub to include “NetCare “, which eliminate manual process of health care delivery, “AgroMart” for showcasing Agric products and purchase, “Haddaza Kitchen” and “Track”, a Leave Management App for civil servants among others.

Head of Component- Local Economic Development/VC GIZ -Sedin,Sina Uti- Waziri also speaking emphasised the need for youth to choose career in ICT to proffer solutions to economic challenges, enjoy the benefits of digitalisation and remain relevant in the society.

The team lead of "Track App" Adesina Williams,  who came first at the competition with 276 points gave  kudos the state government for creating a space like Ogun TechHub , calling on the state government to adopt the app as soon as possible for it's workforce.
