The Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, has felicitated with Dr. Rotimi AKINLESI, on his appointment as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs by the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, MFR.
The Council boss who was filled with joy, described AKINLESI’s appointment as well-deserved and timely, considering his professional and academic pedigree, and coming at a time, when all hands are on deck at getting on board, the qualified bureaucrats needed in the actualisation of the “Building Our Future Together Agenda” of our dear Governor, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, MFR.
The Chairman in a release from his Media Team, thanked and commended the Governor, for finding AKINLESI worthy of the appointment.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Ikenne Local Government, particularly, Iperu Remo, I wish to express immense gratitude to you, for the honour done us. We are sincerely grateful for your kind consideration and approval of the appointment of our son and brother, Dr. Rotimi AKINLESI.
We are very confident that this call to higher responsibility, will spur him to a more effective, efficient, and better public service delivery.
Dr. Rotimi AKINLESI, born over 5 decades ago into the family of Pa Samuel AKINLESI in Iperu Remo, is a prince from the ODORU RULING HOUSE of the town.
An experienced Plant Nematologist, Pathologist, and a Crop Protection Specialist, AKINLESI, a graduate of the University of Ilorin, also holds a Ph.D from the University of Ibadan.
He is the founder of the Less Privileged Children Empowerment Initiative (EI), an NGO; and a member of the Advisory Board of the Wellness Africa Foundation, also an NGO committed to improving good health and well-being.
The appointee, an ex-student of Mayflower School, Ikenne, is the incumbent President of Mayflower Old Students Association (MOSA).
Until his appointment as the Permanent Secretary, AKINLESI, was the Deputy Director, Adaptive Research in the Ogun State Agricultural Development Programme (OGADEP), and a Zonal Manager in the programme.
He is happily married to Dr. (Mrs.) Buky AKINLESI, a staff of the Ogun State Hospitals Management Board, Abeokuta, and the marriage is blessed with wonderful children.
