Family Holds Eight Days Prayers For Otunba Jimi Lawal’s Mother, Alhaja Nimota Lawal
Family and friends have from Monday began eight days prayers for Late Alhaja Nimota Ayinke Lawal, mother of the popular politician and 2023 PDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, Otunba Jimi Lawal, who died on Monday at the age of 90 and had since been buried according to Islamic injunctions.
The prayer session which holds daily at the residence of the late Islamic woman at Agunsebi area of Olisa Street in Ijebu-Ode also involved recitations of Quranic verses.
The prayer was on Monday led by the Chief Imam of Ijebuland, Shaykh Miftaudeen Gbadegesin Ayanbadejo alongside other senior Islamic clerics and dignitaries.
Speaking briefly with one of the children, Mr. Adekunle Lawal during the prayers programme described his mother as one in a million and lover of God and the people around her saying the family would definitely miss her affection and wise counsel.
“Our mother is priceless, she was a mother in true sense of it, she feared God and taught everyone around her same. We are all going to miss her and our prayers is that the Almighty Allah will grant her Aljannah Fridouz”.
Late Alhaja Ayinke during her life times was a community leader and member of Oredegbe Age Group, the Iya Sunnat and Iya Adinni Idomowo, Imose Mosque in Ijebu -Ode, also member and leader at Alhujaja-jaha Islamic society of Ijebuland among others.
Alhaja Ayinke was survived by many children including Hon. Remi Lawal, Otunba Jimi Lawal, among other children, grand children and great grandchildren.
Further funeral arrangements are to be announced soon by the family.
