CORONAVIRUS: OBA-ELECT ADVISES COMMUNITY TO ADHERE STRICTLY TO PREVENTIVE MEASURES

The Bejeroku-elect of Oke Agbo, Ijebu Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government of Ogun State, Prince Adeleke Adekoya has enjoined the people of the community not to excercise anxiety over the rampaging coronavirus also known as COVID-19 but remain calm and adhere strictly to the advocated measures to curtail the spread of the dreaded disease.

In a statement made available to the press, Friday, Oba-elect Adekoya urged the people to observe hygiene rules as advocated by the World Health Organisation, WHO which include regular handwashing with soap and water, covering of the mouth while coughing or sneezing, restricting handshakes and use of sanitisers.

He also advised people to avoid high density gathering and observe social distancing rules in public places like markets, hospitals, banks, motor parks.

Aware of the economic and social effects of the virus, he assured the people that the State and Federal Governments as well as the international community are concerned about the deadly disease and are engaged in proactive neasures to curtail its spread.

He then appealed to kind-hearted stakeholders from both private and corporate sectors to complement efforts of the authorities concerned in the provision of medical aids and other supportive gestures that could help contain the effects of the pandemic in all its ramifications.
