Ayinke Ajirotutu Celebrates Osun Festival In Grand Style

It was a colourful celebration of tradition and Yoruba rich cultural heritage recently as wife of Ajiroba Ogunyemi who doubles as Yeye Ajiroba of Akarigbo Sagamu, Iyaafin Osuntunmise Ogunyemi celebrated this year annual Osun Festival in Lagos with funfair.

The seven-day long annual glamorous event fused with prayers came to an end at Ijegun Lagos State where the popular Fuji star, Alhaji Taye Currency entertained the guests with his melodious fuji music tunes

The Issues Magazine reports that the cultural festival attracted large numbers of guests who turned out in various beautiful native attires to celebrate with the celebrant.

The event also saw some adherents being decorated with ‘Omilanu’ and ‘Yeyemeso’ chieftaincy titles among others.

Speaking with our Correspondent, the celebrant revealed that the festival is fulfilment of the annual pledge inherited from her grandmother and that she had ever since being adherent of traditional religion with thousands of followers across the globe.

According to her, “This Ajirotutu annual festival which I always celebrate with my friends and followers is a way to renew the contract between humans and the Olodumare, it offers grace to all of us, also to our members”

 

Speaking with The Issues Magazine and YouTube TV Show, the celebrant, Iyaafin Osuntunmise appreciated those that graced the occasion wishing everyone safe travels back to their destinations.

The Olu Oke Ariko Sagamu, Dr. Oladunni Olayinka while speaking at the event in Lagos, described the celebrant as a woman of virtue who embraced Yoruba culture and tradition.

“Iyaafin Osuntunmise is someone I admired so much for her commitment in promoting Yoruba culture and tradition, being a traditionalist myself, I have no doubt in her prowess in lifting Yoruba culture.

“I encourage all Yorubas to emulate this spirit in promoting our traditional culture in all parts the world. Iyaafin Osuntunmise has demonstrated vigorously how we should all be celebrating our cultural heritage.

“This is what they practised in Brazil and other African countries, ours in Nigeria shouldn’t be put under the carpet for other religion purposes”, Dr Oladunni said.

In the same vein, the Ajiroba of Akarigbo, Prince Adesina Ogunyemi who joyfully celebrated her wife said there are reasons to celebrate his wife for the success recorded so far in her life time.

Prince Ogunyemi said, “It’s exactly seven days today that we started this long spiritual prayers and today is the grandfinale, you can see how happy I am today, her joy is my joy, I appreciate everyone for gracing this ceremony with us”.

He urged people to embrace the rich Yoruba cultural heritage saying that “We all know that our culture and tradition is the best in the world, so we should use it to promote unity in diversity as well as peaceful coexistence in the country”.
