12 killed ,18 injured in Kaduna Attacks
The police command in Kaduna state said, on Monday 5th June of this year 2O17 that a total of 12 persons were killed while 18 others sustained various degrees of injury in multiple suicide bomb attacks in Maiduguri.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Agyole Abbeh made this known while confirming the attack at a news briefly in Kaduna.
Abbeh said the death toll included four female suicide bombers. The Commissioner, however, disclosed that soldiers deployed to Kajuru local government area, failed an attempt by three other female suicide bombers to penetrate Kaduna metropolis.
He said two of the attackers were interrupted and killed by soldiers at about 11:5O pm on Sunday at Kajuru local government area.
Abbeh said the Military also intercepted and killed one suicide bomber who tried to enter Kaduna at Kagarko, death toll included four female suicide bombers.
He said the fourth suicide bomber denoted the explosion strapped on her body at a mosque at about 4:3O pm Laura area of Kaduna.
The suicide bomber denoted IED, blew herself up and killed eight persons, namely
Ayibiowu Yusuf, Daniel Yusuf, Precious Yusuf, Danjuma Goje, Terry Mallami, Suleman Abubakar, Martha Jalingo and Jogobiri Alli.
Security operatives have failed three of the attempted suicide bomb attacks while only one of them carried out the attack and all the four suicide bombers were killed in the attack.
Abbeh added that the attacks occurred on the outskirts of the metropolis and center of the city.
According to him, those wounded in the attacks were rushed to the teaching hospital namely Samson Akpan, Usman Ibrahim among others.
The Commissioner reinterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging the people to be vigilant and provide useful information to security agencies.
Abbeh added that the command had adopted other practical steps to enhance security and check further suicide bomb attacks in the state.
