Stakeholders Charged On Improvement Of Education In Ogun

Stakeholders have been urged to support the education sector in order to improve its standard as government alone cannot bear the financial brunt of education in Ogun State.

The Vice Chancellor, Olabisi Onabanjo University, (OOU) Ago Iwoye, Professor Ganiyu Olatunde stated this while receiving educational materials donated by the North America Chapter, OOU, Ago Iwoye Alumni Association, saying the management would collaborate with the alumni towards taking the institution to greater heights.

Professor Olatunde expressed appreciation to the alumni for the laudable gesture and interest in the progress and development of the university, noting that the donation would enhance academic performance of the institution as well as widen the educational horizon which would enable students compete with their contemporaries in the world.

“We are so excited and appreciate you and your colleagues in North America. We are glad our Alumni Association is partnering with the university so that we can have a lofty and 21st century university”, Olatunde said.

Presenting the educational materials, one of the leaders of the Alumni Association, Dr. Afolake Mobolaji, said the donation which include over 120 laptops, projectors, interactive boards, monitors, switch, printers, keyboards, magnifier, scanners, sound recorders, decoders, copiers and UPS, were made to promote academic excellence and to give back to their alma mater.
