Ojude Oba: Globacom Set To Empower Ijebu Indigenes With Tricycles, Plasma Televisions

– Governor Abiodun, Adebutu Kesington, Alaafin Oyo, Others To Grace Occasion

The Nigerian Globacom Telecommucation, a major sponsor of Ojude-Oba, an annual festival of Ijebuland has declared its intention to empower Ijebu indigenes, among other winners of the globacom raffle draw tickets in the annual festival.

The telecommucation Regional Activation Manager, Mr. Olufolahan Feseyitan disclosed this at the annual Ojude-Oba Press conference held at Awujale Pavilion Centre in Ijebu-Ode on Monday.

He said, “In this year’s festival, Globacom will be empowering 20 lucky winners of raffle draw with 10 tricycles and ten plasma television sets during the annual Ojude-Oba Festival”

Adding that side attractions for this year’s festival is the beauty pageant, ‘Miss Ojude-Oba Festival Beauty Pageant’, a musical concert where fuji icon, Abass Obesere and multi-talented musician, Keshinro Ololade popularly known as Lil-Kesh will entertain guests.

The chairman of the planning committee, Otunba Wahab Osinusi applauded that Globacom had been adjudged as the fourth most admired brand on the African continent.

Sheding more light on the august occasion, he said, “The annual Ojude Oba Festival is a rallying point for all Ijebus to pay homage to the Awujale and collectively share thoughts on how to take Ijebuland to the next level of social and infrastructural development.”

Adding that Ojude-Oba festival is a classic example and manifestation of religious tolerance in Ijebuland, a very spectacular celebration of the Ijebus of South West Nigeria.

The theme for this year’s celebration is, Ojude Oba: The Uniqueness Of The Ijebu Nation. The celebration will witness the presence of incumbent Governor of Ogun State; Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Special Guest of Honour; Sir Adebutu Kesington and other Yoruba monarchs such as Oba Adebisi, the Alaafin of Oyo among other dignitaries to grace the occasion.
