June 12: We’ll Study The Manifestoes Of Abiola To The Extreme – Ogun Governor, Dapo Abiodun Assures

The Ogun State Government has promised to study the manifestoes of the late sage, Chief Moshood Abiola with the view to injecting them into the administration of his government in the State.

Abiodun who charged Nigerians to emulate the virtues and sterling qualities of late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (MKO) in order to strengthen the Nigerian polity made the declaration on Wednesday at the M.K.O Stadium in Abeokuta.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Engineer Mrs. Noimot Salako – Oyedele lauded the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government for proclaiming June 12 as Democracy Day.

The Governor assured that the Ogun State administration would be fair, equitable and just to everyone irrespective of political affiliation because he believed it is only good governance that could pay for the supreme sacrifice of Chief MKO Abiola.

Abiodun enjoined the people of the state to abide by the laws of the state, while promising that their administration would be resourceful, equitable and developmental.

She however solicited the support of the people in order to build a veritable system of governance that would transform the state for good.

Speaking at the gathering, one of the children of the late Business Mongul and Politician Chief MKO Abiola, Abdul Mumeen Abiola at the special prayer, eulogizes President Buhari for the declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day which he claimed would help to entrench an enduring democracy in the country.

He persuaded the Federal Government to study his father’s manifestoes, especially the areas of poverty alleviation because according to him the need for the Federal Government to tackle poverty in the country was essential.

They took turns to speak and they all agreed that late Moshood Kashimawo Abiola paid the supreme price for the democracy the country currently enjoys.

The new Governor emphatically asserted that there is no gainsaying in the fact that Ogun State is unique and well endowed; in many respects, it is well acknowledged that the state is home to some of the greatest Nigerians of all times.
