Gunmen Kidnap Bank MD and Staff, Demand N2m Ransom

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the Managing Director of Kaduna State Polytechnic (Kadpoly) Microfinance Bank Limited, Mrs Synty Akpojiyovwi and another female staff.

The two women were said to be returning from a conference in Abuja when they were ambushed by the gunmen along Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

The incident occured arund 5:30pm on Saturday near the Jere area of Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a source said, adding that the driver was set free.

The Kidnappers however, have reportedly contacted the families of the victims, demanding for N2m ransom.

“Initially, one of the kidnappers who contacted the families requested that they pay N3m each before they could be freed but after series of negotiations and begging, they (kidnappers) reduced the ransom to N1m each and vowed not to reduce it.”
