Premier League club appoint new coach ahead of new season – Southampton have replaced former coach Ronald Koeman – Claude Puel has penned a three year deal at Saint Mary’s


English Premier League side, Southampton has appointed Claude Puel as their new first team manager for a three year deal.

The appointment of Puel follows an extensive search for the right manager to continue the club’s progression in recent years.

Puel replaces Ronald Koeman after the Dutchman parted ways with the club he spent three years and has now joined Everton.

Southampton will be playing in next season’s Europa League competition after placing seventh in the Premier League in the 2015/2016 campaign.
