Corps members serving in Ogun State have been enjoined to make meaningful contributions at their places of primary assignments and their host communities as a way of contributing their quota to nation building.
Governor Amosun gave this advice at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Batch ‘A’ stream II orientation course at the NYSC orientation camp, Sagamu.
Represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs). Yetunde Onanuga, the governor urged the corps members to uphold the virtues of perseverance, discipline, dedication and become agents of change at the various places of their primary assignments as well as accept their postings in good faith.
The Governor who believed that the corpers should see the state as home-away from home said ‘’I urge you to make Ogun State your home by not rejecting your posting to any part of the State as this will enable you to prepare yourselves for your future career. You must also ensure that you identify with your host communities, share their hopes and aspirations’’.
He reiterated that the government would continue to ensure the safety of corps members, enjoining employers to engage them in useful activities that would impart positively on them.
Earlier, the NYSC state coordinator, Mr. James Afolayan reminded the corps members that the aim of the scheme was to promote national unity and cultural integration, urging them to shun all forms of social vices that could jeopardize their future aspirations.
